Wow! What a great gig! I hadn't seen S*M*A*S*H play for 3 and a half months, so was suffering withdrawal & really in need of last night's gig. And, boy was I in for a treat! They blasted their way through 16 songs in little over an hour, including a good mix of old & new, fast & slow (for Rob to catch his breath!) & there was a large energetic crowd, with several wearing S*M*A*S*H t-shirts. As you will see from the photos, this was probably the sweatiest gig since Coventry! Just like the old days. I really liked the brand new song 'Morphine For The Pain', which is 'a number with just a little sprinkle of magic'. Romeo would be proud, Ed, you just need to add a few hand-claps!!!

Tim Cookie was DJ for the evening (but where were the Cookies???) with his impeccable music taste on full display. A sprinkling of 1990s indie disco with some contemporary stuff from Editors, Franz etc. thrown in for good measure.

Support came from 'The Rocketeers', another young Hertfordshire band, who were really good. They have several songs on their 'Myspace' page which are well worth a listen.

All in all, a top night out, in a good Hitchin town centre venue, & all for a couple of quid!!! Hope we don't have to wait too long for our next S*M*A*S*H experience!!!
