Big thank you to everyone who came on saturday....... Managing to book a band for one of my nights that inspired me to go to Gigs, DJ and ultimatly promote live music has to be one of the best feelings ever... The guys exceeded my expectations in terms of their performance and I really can't wait until the next gig (won't be working so see you down the front)
Big thanks also to Bad Head and the Sell Outs for making it the best night I've had at Club-85 in years.
Cheers
Tim

This has to be one the best gig's I've been to in years, not just musically, but also on a personal level, Ed, Sal and Rob have proved to me that good old fashioned guitar, bass and drums are the reason that I play an instrument and that rock n roll shouldn't turn you into an idiot, and hopefully this will be one of many gigs smash will be doing. Man, when these guys took to the stage, it was like they never took a break from it, they were like three kings returning from a far away land and played like they had one hour to live.
The set list, Bang Bang Bang, Barrabas, S.B.C, Reflections, Oh ovary, Take your breath away, In 2 you, Lady love, Drugs again, What goes on, Loves not a fire, Self abused and Real surreal, then come back for an mind blowing encore of Revisited no3, Kill somebody and Shame.
The whole night was like going back 10 years or so, I'll never forget it in a hurry.
Nows the best time to catch them, while they're still hot, you'll rediscover why you went to see smash in the first place. Mind you I never got to see them the first time round, but hell did I make up for lost time.
See you at the next gig.

Yup, Sat 11th Sept was the first time I'd seen the lads live for 10 years!! 10 years!! makes me feel like a real old git. They played well (altho I do think Ed's mic should've been turned up) and it was kinda touching that they all seemed to be really chuffed to be playing together again, which made the gig all the more special for me. Very nostalgic all round.

Music collective Live Circuit uncovers the latest goings on in the North Herts scene
ONE OF Hertfordshire's most influential bands return to the live fray this Saturday, with a date at Club 85 in Hitchin.
In the early 1990s, S*M*A*S*H were the toast of the UK music press, their harder-edged, politically charged take on indie-rock taking the UK and the charts by storm.
A tempestuous relationship with their record label led to a premature demise not long after the release of their debut album, 1994's Self Abused, but the band has been talked about with reverence ever since.
Just 10 years on, after a low-key comeback performance that has already passed into rock legend at their home town pub The Doctor's Tonic, WGC, they headline monthly indie rock night The Cookie Club.
Old favourites and new material are to be expected.
Support on the night comes from Hitchin melodic punks Bad Head and Welwyn's finest young exports The $ell-outs.
Between bands and afterwards, local DJs including Rob from S*M*A*S*H will keep everyone's ears pleased.
Entrance to the 16+ venue is £5 from 7.45pm, with a bar until midnight.
