I was with the boys on most of the October 94 tour. One of my favourite gigs of the tour was Sheffield Leadmill on 8th October 1994.

We arrived sometime in the afternoon, greeted by workmen digging up the streets everywhere! We struggled to find somewhere to stay because David Essex & Garth Brookes were both in town!! The Leadmill was a really good venue & there were lots of young students there.

I was in my usual position, in the front row, by Ed (which I would later come to regret!) so managed to get a few photos before the crowd went mad! I have sent 3 photos that I took at the gig - one of Rob (featuring the cool SMASH banner that was used for the tour!), & Salv & Ed. It was quite a rough gig & I was almost knocked out 3 times (head sent spinning, seeing stars etc.!).

Some idiot spat chewing gum at me, which was a horrible smelly mess mangled in my hair & had to be cut out later by my friend! Ed often jumped onto the monitors at the front of the stage and, this time I was a little 'too close' as he kicked me in the eye!

After the gig it started to swell up, so Salv got me some ice wrapped in a towel to put on it. Ed walked in & thought it was amusing. He said 'At least I was only wearing plimsoles ha ha!' Luckily it wasn't too bad the next day & you could only see a faint bruise!

At the end of the tour I did look like I had been seriously beaten up though, bruising on my chest, ribs & arms resulting from 2 weeks of being crushed against a barrier! It was certainly worth it though!
