Can't remember my first Perez book but do remember collecting the Crisis on Infinite Earth series when they first came out. I got 'em because the Title was cool. Only till recently at a library book sale. I saw a bunch of old comics selling for 25 cents each. I ravaged through it and was in awe to see the cover of Wonder Woman issue number seven, the Escher style cover. I bought that one because I only had 10 cents left. A guy behind me in line gave me a quarter to buy that issue. If he's reading this Thanks. After this discovery only then did i really checked out Perez's works. Crisis and Wonder Woman are one of many favorites. But I do like all the artist and storytellers of that time in the 80's and 90's it's much different from the art and stories of today. I hardly read or look at the new stuff. Never met Perez but it might be possible in September. I like to say Art is everywhere and as an artist we put it all together and make it beautiful. Of course a solid foundation, a love for nature and art, and cultivating Good character is important. Because these things show in your Art. Just like your handwriting. They say they can know a person by his handwriting. I believe that to be True in all forms of Art. Right now I'm doing Art to raise awareness about the illegal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who are being tortured and killed in Communist China for believing in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.
