July 29, 2003 | No Pérez in Chicago From George Pérez, thanks to Doug Smith No Pérez in Chicago posted 7/29/03 8:55 PM It is with deep regret that, due to a recurring ear infection that originally flared up before I went to San Diego, my doctor has recommended not flying again for at least a month, thereby forcing me to cancel my appearance at the Wizard World Chicago show. I've already informed the folks at both Wizard and CrossGen and hope that this e-mail circulates to as many fans as possible. I apologize for any disappointment and just want to assure everybody that this isn't serious. It's just that flying twice so close together is not medically advisable.  June 13, 2003 | More Clarification on Pérez Commissions From Spencer R. Beck, via Marcus Mebes Here is a copy of the email I am sending to Vu to post on the message board: To clarify the situation regarding George Perez Commissions. Due to George's overwhelming current schedule (completing JLA/Avengers and doing Solus for CrossGen along with convention season travel), he simply does not have the time right now to complete any in-house commission requests. Combine this with the fact that his current list of requests is well over 100 and the decision was made to take the information off of the site for the time being. Once JLA/Avengers is completed in its entirety and George has a chance to relax a little, he will begin fulfilling every outstanding request. Every request we have on file and sent out confirmation of acceptance WILL be completed in the order they were received. Once the list of outstanding commissions is down to a more manageable number, we will open up the list again for new requests, though the earliest the list will open up again is most likely early in 2004. To avoid confusion for people who would like to order a new George Perez piece, we removed all of the information from the website until such time as the list is to be opened again. And just as a note, please don't request to be put on the list when it opens up again until it actually does. Due to the logistical nightmare that would ensue, it's not fair to the customer, myself or George to do so. So if you do want a George Perez piece this summer, your best bet is to find him at a convention. I know he is scheduled to be at both the MSG con (http://innervisioncomics.com) and at Wizard World Chicago (the Wizard World appearance is as part of Crossgen) this summer. To be perfectly clear though: ALL outstanding requests for which confirmation was sent will be fulfilled after George's completion of JLA/Avengers.
