From Slush Factory
George Perez and Mark Waid sang the praises of CrossGen Comics. While Mark Waid joked about sounding like a mooney (and
answered questions from the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons), it was George Perez' response that was surprising. He was
genuinely impressed with Mark Alessi and the CrossGen operation and that is as a freelancer who is not exclusive to them. The
ability for CrossGen to get free promotional posters for Mr. Perez to sign in a turnaround of 1 day impressed him to no end and he
was very happy to mention that.

From Heroes Convention
If Julie Schwartz is the Godfather, then George Perez is HeroesCon's favorite son! George is consistently ranked by Wizard
magazine as one of the top comic artists in the industry and HeroesCon is proud to have him as a guest and the emcee of our charity
art auction again this year. This will be the 19th annual Heroes Convention and George has been at all but two of them. This year
marks a new beginning for Perez along with several other top comic creators. Kurt Busiek, Todd Dezago, Tom Grummett, Stuart
Immonen, Karl Kesel, Barry Kitson, Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo and Perez launch their new creator-owned line of comics at Heroes
Convention 2000. Gorilla Comics will offer posters, commissioned sketches, photos with glamorous models, a guy in an ape-suit, yet
another T-shirt and tickets to the "official Gorilla Comics Launch Party" Saturday night. All net proceeds of the extravagant buffet and
boogie will go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Admission is $10 and includes hearty hors d'oeuvres, celebrity Karaoke, and a chance to win a full color painted original by George Perez and Tom Smith!
Art will be
produced live on stage throughout the three-day show with the auction of all pieces, as well as additional works donated by
non-attending artists, to be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, June 18th. Legendary HeroesCon "family member" George Perez will again be
the auctioneer, continuing a tradition started in 1987.

From George Perez (Shockrockets 2)
Come join us at the official Gorilla Comics booths where you can have your comics signed, commission sketches, chat with cretor chimps, see exclusive preview art for future issues of Shockrockets and Empires as well as for the upcoming series Section Zero, Tellos, and Superstar. Models DiNA: Simmons and Shannon Lower and color artist Tom Smith will also be on hand to help celebrate the long-awaited re-launch of my own Gorilla Comics title Crimson Plague, which goes on sale that very week.
Win prizes, pick up some t-shirts, posters and other Gorilla goodies, and even have your photos taken with a couple of pretty girls and an ape. This will be the only time this year that the entire gang of Gorilla creators will be appearing together, so swing on over to Charlotte and say "Ook ook" with us - and help us raise some money for two very worthy causes. You'll be pounding your chest with satisfaction.
Ook Ook!
