SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND #1 (UK)
(1979)
|
|
Oh, you know what? I found out, George, that we have a caller on the line who would like to ask you a question. Ed, let's bring on Mark from Ohio.
Mark: Hi George, I got something that's gonna scare the crap out of you. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Dutch version.
George: You actually HAVE a version of that book?
Mark: Yeah, we met at Pittsburgh, I showed you the original pages to Sgt Pepper.
George: And I've signed original pieces of artworks. I've never, to this day, have seen published version of the book. And I'm sorry for whatever it's doing to your eyeballs right now.
Mark: Oh, Mooney just butchered it up. But, I was very happy to get it. Are you going to be in Pittsburgh.
George: Oh, I'm always at Pittsburgh.
Mark: Okay, I just wanted to make sure, because I can't wait to scare you.
George: Believe me, I'm dying to see it. I'm actually past the point that the blister is still sore. So, I'm actually curious to see what this book. You probably have the rarest of vintage artwork you can find.
Mark: I've had some nasty things [said about me] on the website, your official website. I don't know if it's yours.
George: The official website is run by a man named Vu Nguyen. He actually started it before I even knew about it. I've been so flattered by his dedication on running this website, which is now going for six years. Hey, I don't have to do anything for it. I'm such a lazy person.

From Vu
I just listened to the first segment on
The Comic Zone's February 9th broadcast and a caller had expressed interested to have Randy Bowen do a JLA/Avengers statue series with Marvel and DC. That's a great idea, it would work and it would make both companies a lot of money.
Comic Zone
2/9/2004
Segment #1: A talk with Randy Bowen
Caller: There's so many characters, that I would love to see statues of -- or scenes, that would be great to see. It would be really cool to see a Human-- I was just thinking about the JLA/Avengers thing. It would be so great if you could figure out some way to work with DC or Marvel at the same time. Have some sort of battle scene. Have all sorts of characters fighting.
Randy Bowen: Like Captain America and Batman, etc.
Caller: That would be fun. That would be definitely very, very well-received by the comic world.
Comic Zone is also interested in having George Pérez as a guest on the radio show.
