80s young superhero team: X-Men vs Teen Titans
Winner: Teen Titans.
Marv Wolfman's writing is both more naturalistic and epic than Chris Claremont's, and George Perez is better than any X-Men artist (including John Byrne). Teen Titans was unusually frank about sexuality, betrayal, and the depths of human darkness for a mainstream superhero comic before Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen. And it did so without descending into sleaze and cynicism, unlike so many of the second rate Moore-Miller imitators of the following "gritty" era of superhero comics.
