THE HERO INITIATIVE'S "ULTIMATE 100" GALLERY

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #100 (Hero Initiative) (Feb 2007)

Last week you learned about a very special fundraiser coming from The Hero Initative. More than 80 artists were asked to participate by drawing a custom sketch on the blank cover of a specially produced "Ultimate Spider-Man #100," with 100 total custom covers created. Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Hero Initiative's efforts to "provide a financial safety net for yesterdays creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life and an avenue back into paying work."

The fund raiser has been split into four different parts, with some of the covers auctioned in person at stores and conventions, with the remainder to be auctioned off via eBay. The first event is this coming Saturday in Los Angeles. From the press release:

A gallery showing of all 100 covers will kick off the worldwide tour at The Secret Headquarters, located at 3817 W. Sunset Boulevard in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. This special event will be the only showing of all 100 covers, as one masterpiece will be auctioned off on site by one of the local artists in attendance!
