In February, he and artist George Pérez (JLA/Avengers) will unveil The Brave and the Bold, a revamped version of perhaps the most revered team-up title in DC Comics history, an ongoing series that will breath new life into the roating character concept by injecting the one element team-up books having desperately lacked over the past 20 years: relevance.

"Team-ups used to provide a rare chance to see your two favorite heroes together, which - in and of itself - was an attractive, exciting thing," Waid says, "But because Marvel and DC have so distilled and concentrated their universes over the past 10-15 years, the novetly worn thin. That's part of the challenge of Brave and the Bold; to reinvigorate the fans, to get them enthused again about the notion."
