PITTSBURGH COMICON 2006 (21-23 Apr 2006), Monroeville, PA
The next person I had to find and hug was George Perez. George is one of my absolute favorite people in comics - and not just because he usually shows me advanced looks at pages he's working on. Last year he showed me all these Donna Troy pages he was working on months and months before they came out. He knows she's my favorite comic character of all time, so brought them special to give me a treat. This year we chatted for a while and caught up on life in and out of comics. George always has a smile on his face. You can tell he truly loves this industry and his time in it. What's great about a smaller show like Pittsburgh is you have the chance to really talk to someone like George Perez. There are always people waiting to meet him, but if you stand around and shout out questions or go earlier in the day, you might find him with just one or two people in line and able to talk more about any given topic. He was sketching both Donna Troy and Starfire head shots for different folks. It's so cool to watch him draw in person and see how things unfold on the page.

After George, I found Brian Michael Bendis, who had a long line of folks waiting to get his autograph and chat with him. I hugged him quickly and asked about doing another interview for a future PULSE. He said we should and then I left him to his long line of fans.
