WIZARD WORLD, LOS ANGELES, CA 2005 (18-20 Mar 2005)
There's nothing like starting out a road trip getting rear-ended 30 minutes after you get in the car. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and fortunately it wasn't my car — it was my friend Rowan's car, who was kind enough to offer her car to drive my boyfriend and I to Wizard World LA. Nineteen hours and lots of cigarettes later, we arrived in Long Beach and managed to check into our hotel a few hours early.

This left Artists' Alley virtually empty of convention attendees. If you wanted to have a personal conversation with Billy Tucci (Shi), Josh Middleton (NYX/Sky Between Branches), and Andy Lee (Kabuki), you could just walk right up and have it. This also left booths like Top Shelf and Comic Book Legal Defense Fund empty too, and they had a booth midway through the middle of the convention hall. ACTOR got a hold of George Perez to do some signing, and their booth was next to Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. So that did bring some people by, but for the most part, this convention was purely a DC/Marvel type crowd.
