Comments: I remember one of the first comics I ever read was Crisis On Infinite Earths. While it took me several years before I understood why there were like 2 Supermen, 2 Flash, Two Green Lanterns...etc, I remember loving the art. Mr Perez, you are my absolute favorite artist. I can't express how much joy I have gotten from reading books drawn and written by you. Some of my favorites was the before mentioned Crisis, the 1986 Wonder Woman revival, and The Hulk - Future Imperfect. I thank you for bringing me such joy and inspiring me to persue my own art interests.

Dear Avengers Assemble,

AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED TPB (Jan 2005)
AVENGERS FINALE #1 (Nov 2004)
It's pretty obvious what you guys wanna do here... Jumpstart the Avengers with a dynamic and a more popular group of characters. SuperHeroes who have long made names for themselves and that most of whom star in their own monthly books. Just like DC's JLA. Out of seven of it core members, six have their regular series. Whereas the Avengers only has three. But now, it's down to two. Namely Captain America and Iron Man. It's very unfortunate that even The Mighty Thor got cancelled. He and his Asgardian family will be missed...

As for the rest: Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Wasp, Hank Pym, Vision, WarBird, She-Hulk, WonderMan, Black Panther, Black Widow, Falcon, Hercules, Quasar, Namor, Sersi, Captain Britain, QuickSilver ... They're wonderful individuals. They look great as a whole. Apparently, they just don't have enough appeal to stand up on their own. Another problem I must state is the constant roster change. In times, strong members get replaced by second-raters (e.g. Dr. Druid, Gilgamesh). And these sucky players even have the nerve to call themselves Earth's Mightiest.

Despite it all, we shouldn't forget GREAT talents like George Perez, Kurt Busiek, Geoff Johns, Alan Davis, Chuck Austin, Olivier Coipel, Gary Frank and company on Avengers Volume 3. Including those who've handled Volume 1. They all have done a TERRIFIC job in keeping the Avengers marvelously entertaining through the years! What I loved most was the REALISM of the stories and the excitement in every SLUG FEST. They were never as corny as the JLA issues back then.

However considering the intense competition in the comicbook industry, I understand the need for Avengers Dissassemble and New Avengers. I believe Brian Michael Bendis, Finch, Miki and D'Armata have SHOCKED us into trying these new issues. It's SAD... but it maybe worth it. I'm glad you've retained Marvel's version of The World's Finest. We can never have an Avengers team without a Captain America. Iron Man, on the other hand... well, he's filthy rich! The new members are interesting as they are intriguing:

While it's wierd to see Spider-Man in a team, his star quality is sure to be a big help. Sentry may look like a Superman rip-off, but seeing him tear Carnage apart in space was Awesome! Luke Cage is cool... without the tiara and yellow shirt, that is.

It's nice to see Jessica Drew return as the original SpiderWoman.

Matt Murdock / DareDevil may not be on the covers, so he's probably the wildcard. I know, his radar senses can't function well with too many people around him.

The new guy with the nun-chuks is a mystery. A revamped Specter? Shroud?

Lastly, Wolverine is the most surprising and the most exagerated addition. He's an X-Man! In Captain America Annual# 8, Cap once told him: " ... And you, Mister! You better hope the X-Men doesn't get tired of you! Coz I promise you, the Avengers will not have you!"

With all that's said, I'm sure these guys are the answers to their ultra cool counterparts -The Ultimates.

I have a few pointers:

Why not consider Luke's 'Heroes for Hire' partner Iron Fist? He's cool!

How about Black Widow1? She's Hot! Bendis has her in Secret War.

WarBird! She deserves a shine, guys! Like Rogue and WonderWoman, she's great to look at!

The Incredible Hulk! Perhaps Marvel's second most recognizable hero on his own. Formerly an Avengers founding member. Can't believe you forgot about him! It'd be a riot to have him back!

Any chance of an Avengers Finale#1 reprint? That's the only issue I missed!

Can't wait for New Avengers# 3!
