Another Evening in Mankuta's Basement Glen Gold's Lowry Gallery Type: Commission Media: Pen and Ink Genre: Theme 2002 Acquistion Unpublished I asked Gene to do a Femme Fatale piece, using the old "Powder" splash by Will Eisner as a guide. This is what he came up with. Then I asked George Perez to ink it. George was very worried, when he was done, that I wouldn't like it. George! You passed the audition! This is the only time Perez has inked Colan. The piece is very large, roughly dps-sized. (A wild coincidence: Frank Brunner did a very similar image for me, one that's not quite PG-13, which he came up with on his own steam.)
