Who's the white comics pro that's a sex machine to all the chicks...

So in the middle of all this comic love sat Mark Waid and George Perez behind a card table. Signing hundreds of comics didn't seem to faze these pros a bit as they talked to their fans by the dozens. Perez managed to sell out his entire allotment of personal sketches, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, especially to whoever got the Nightwing art I witnessed him doing. What was Waid doing while the Hawaiian-shirt was drawing, you ask? Only being surrounded by his own female groupies, thank you very much. Oh yes, Waid is quite the ladies' man. Don't let the tough exterior fool you; he's silky smooth, baby. The white Shaft.
As would be expected with any signing, there was at least one hardcore freaky mental patient who just haaad to try to steal my signed Empire #1 (with Crimson-Plague back-up story). Luckily, I was able to stop the Blair Witch before he got out the door with my property.
I thought the signing went terrific, and so apparently did Waid. "One of the best signings I've attended EVER," he told us. "The folks at Midtown Comics always take care of their guests, and this event was no exception. The fans were pleasant and enthusiastic, and I really, REALLY have to do more signings with George Perez, since I've never seen this many female comics fans outside of a Neil Gaiman reading." Whoa, tiger.
