"When I was a creator, I always used to ask myself, Why doesn't Marvel and try and make amends?'" says Quesada. "It's just takes some effort. There was a lot of damage done to these guys and sometimes it doesn't take much to try and repair it.
So far, the "Joe Quesada Goodwill Tour" has definitely made an impact. As one of his initial goals after taking over as EIC, Quesada made it his personal mission to make good with Marvel's rival, DC Comics, and get this termally stalled project off the ground. Sure, fans are excited about the highly anticipated super-crossover, but for people like George Pérez, who was scheduled to pencil the mini-series for two decades ago, it's been a dream that's long overdue.
"It's definitely a great feeling of closure," says Pérez, who will pencil the four part mini-series. "In a 27-year career, the biggest regret of my life was how politics and other events killed this fan dream project. It [is] a great feeling that after all this time I finally get to finish the dream."
