Why do you think so many people consider and regard the Titans as the best superhero team of all time?
Faerber: Because of two people -- Marv Wolfman and George Perez. They literally broke new ground with their New Teen Titans, and literally reinvented the team book. While the other popular team book of its time, Uncanny X-Men, was also innovative, NTT gave all its characters their very own personal lives, so we got to see what they did when they weren’t being super-heroes. Uncanny can’t say that -- all their characters just sat around a mansion all day. And because most comic readers these days are, sadly, in their 20s and 30s, NTT was at its peak when these readers were in their early-to-mid teens, and were just really getting into comics.
