Ook Ook, fellow vine swingers! Enjoying the ride so far? Well, this is Ape Nation Grand Elder (that is, the oldest monkey in the tree) George Pérez, tellin' ya that there's more thrills and chills comin' your way — and you all can be a part of it!

On Father's Day weekend, June 16-18, 2000, the entire Banana Trust (Kurt Busiek, Todd Dezago, Tom Grummett, Stuart Immonen, Karl Kesel, Barry Kitson, Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo and yours truly) is scheduled to attend the magnificent Heroes Convention at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC where we will be having our honest-to-goodness official Gorilla Launch Party to celebrate the nativity of our hairy little bundle of joy. Birthing primates has been a lot of hard, knuckle-draggin' work and now we're all ready for a little jungle jump & jive!!

Although the actual simian soiree (which will benefit the Charlotte Firefighters' Burned Children's Fund and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund) will take place on Saturday night, the celebration — and the fund raising — will go on all weekend long.

Come join us at the official Gorilla Comics booths where you can have your comics signed, commission sketches, chat with cretor chimps, see exclusive preview art for future issues of Shockrockets and Empires as well as for the upcoming series Section Zero, Tellos, and Superstar. Models DiNA: Simmons and Shannon Lower and color artist Tom Smith will also be on hand to help celebrate the long-awaited re-launch of my own Gorilla Comics title Crimson Plague, which goes on sale that very week.

Win prizes, pick up some t-shirts, posters and other Gorilla goodies, and even have your photos taken with a couple of pretty girls and an ape. This will be the only time this year that the entire gang of Gorilla creators will be appearing together, so swing on over to Charlotte and say "Ook ook" with us - and help us raise some money for two very worthy causes. You'll be pounding your chest with satisfaction.
