HISTORY: Jack Hart, the son of scientist Philip Hart and Marie Hart (who was later revealed to be an alien, a Contraxian), first appeared in a b/w story in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #22 (March, 1976). In Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #23 (April, 1976), his father was killed by the "Corporation", and Jack himself was doused with the experimantal "Zero Fluid" his father had developed. The fluid transformed Jack into a being of energy which he could only control by donning a special armor.

Now calling himself "Jack of Hearts", he became a super-hero and was trained by Iron Man, joined the Defenders and finally departed into deep space, since he couldn't fully control his powers and was afraid of accidentally hurting someone. In the limited series Avengers Infinity (September - December, 2000), he assisted the short-lived Avengers Infinity against the so-called "Infinites" and got a new armor from Moondragon that finally enabled him to fully control his powers. During the course of the Crossover "Maximum Security", he returned to Earth and - after Avengers Forever #12 (November, 1999) had already hinted this - joined the Avengers in The Avengers (vol. 3) #43 (August, 2001).

POWERS & WEAPONS: Jack is a being of pure energy which he can only control with the help of his armor. He can emit powerful energy beams and fly. The armor he's wearing here looks identical to his original armor (he had fashioned another look in the 90ies) and was given to him by Moondragon in Avengers Infinity #3 (November, 2000).
