DCD honcho Georg Brewer confirmed at Chicago that late 2004 would finally see the debut of Firestorm, The Atom (Ray Palmer), Elongated Man, and Adam Strange. Long the focus of many a thread, poll and petition, these figures essentially complete the mainstays of the Silver Age League. While arguments could be made for the Perez Zatanna or even Snapper Carr, these four characters form the root of many fans' hopes for DC Direct as a whole. Board mainstay JSA Jim (aka Jim Beard, writer of the Red Tornado short from the JLA/JSA Virtue and Vice Secret Files and Origins Special), though widely known as a champion of a Ma Hunkel action figure, is pretty happy with this turn of events. Specifically regarding Adam Strange, he noted that the news is "Fantastic. I've campaigned for him before."

July 24, 2003 | Pérez Version Zatanna Bust
    From Kirk

Onto some good news/bad news. I asked DCD about a Perez Zatanna action figure and they said since they couldn't sell out the first Zatanna figure that it was unlikely they would make the Perez version, but that the next JLA bust would, in fact, be the Perez version of Zatanna! So bust yes, but figure no. Oh, and as long as they sell, DCD plans on doing the whole satellite years line up in the JLA bust series.
