TEEN TITANS ANIMATED SERIES: SEASON THREE
(2005)

The animated team supreme face Trigon and Slade in a final showdown for Raven's soul
Can one teenager escape her own dark destiny? It's a question Raven and the Teen Titans will seek to answer in the conclusion to the fourth season of the hit animated series in June.
Loosely adapted from "The Terror of Trigon" (New Teen Titans [vol. 2] #1-5), the three-part Season Finale sees the going up against Raven's demonic father, Trigon.
"This is a different kind of threat," producer Glen Murakami explains. "The Titans aren't trying to stop a bomb from going off, they're trying to save their friend."
Raven's mysterious background will be explored, as will her bond with Robin. And the Titans once again face off with Slade, resurrected as Trigon's emissary.
"The one question I heard all of Season 3 was, 'Where is Slade?'" says Murakami. "For the first time he's dealing with somebody more powerful than himself."
Trigon made a brief appearance during the show's first season and now he has a new look, a new attitude, and a new voice courtesy of Kevin Michael Richardson (The Joker on "The Batman").

Some copies of THE NEW TEEN TITANS: TERROR OF TRIGON TPB have printing errors. I was told that only the first twenty pages were printed correctly, before being reversed on the back cover.
Here is an example of the misprinted pages:
Diamond and DC Comics have been notified the error, and the book have gone back to the printers.
Special thanks to Outpost 2000.

Mercy! I surrender. I got the wrong TEEN TITANS books in Friday's column. And you let me have it. I didn't know there was that large a fanbase for the classic TEEN TITANS books. The upcoming trade paperback does NOT reprint material already available in the ARCHIVE edition. The trade is from the second volume of the book. I got confused because it's the same creative team and features the same villain. So, please, pre-order it if you were looking for something new.

Looking at the signatures on the cover to NEW TEEN TITANS: TERROR OF TRIGON, it looks like Phil Jimenez signed the artwork as "PEREZ & JIMENEZ". This might confuse some reader into thinking that George Pérez did the artwork for the cover, but that is not entirely true. George (with Dick Giordano) did the original cover to NEW TEEN TITANS #1, and this new cover is merely an homage or tribute to the original cover design. See homages: NEW TEEN TITANS #1 for additional homage covers.

Pipeline Previews #2
Welcome to the second "Pipeline Previews," the alliterative title for a new monthly Pipeline column. In place of the Pipeline2 column, this column is designed to do the same thing Pipeline2 did every month for the past year and a half. This column, updated every month the week after the new PREVIEWS is released, is the place to look at the latest PREVIEWS catalog for items scheduled to ship in just a couple of months. Unlike those Pipeline2 columns, I'll be covering the entire catalog in one fell swoop here.

THE NEW TEEN TITANS: THE TERROR OF TRIGON is a new trade paperback collecting the first five issues of Marv Wolfman and George Perez's famed run on the series. This same material can be found -- along with much more -- in the ARCHIVE EDITION of THE NEW TEEN TITANS, Volume 1. However, this one only carries a $17.95 price tag. This is all in support of the forthcoming new series that's initiated by May's THE TITANS/YOUNG JUSTICE 3-part series in anticipation of the upcoming animated series. (The tail wags the dog.) On the bright side of things, there's new Mike McKone artwork to be had on the other side of this one.

The TRIGON collection is a trade and the next Perez Titans material you see is will be the second volume of the Archives, probably in 2004. Yes, we'll be recoloring his JLA and Wonder Woman books when we get to them. No, George won't be doing new covers, as mentioned earlier.

Thanks, Mike. I'd love to see DC print all George's an my Titans, and with a second Archives edition coming out soon, as well as the Titans Baxter reprinting, they are on the way to doing just that. I'd also love for them to finally finish and print the Titans graphic novel George and I started so many years ago. He completed about 80 pages of incredible art and we can always get someone else to finish it up and then have me write it as planned.

Marv,
DC just announced that The New Teen Titans Volume 2(1984)
issues 1-5 will be collected into a Trade Parerback. Did you write a intro for the new TPB? I always like the introductions that provide a little behind the scenes info on the project. Just wondering.

No, I was not asked to write an intro to the Trigon storyline. On the other hand, I did write the intro to the second Titans Archives edition. It is possible they asked George, which would make sense as it was, in many ways, his swan song on the Titans. He did do approximately 80 pages of a 120 page Titans graphic novel - that I think is still the best Titans work he ever did - but that has never seen print and to date there seems to be no interest in having me finish writing it and him - or someone else - finish drawing it. Even with another artist it would still be 80 pages of Perez/Wolfman Titans.
As for the Trigon collection - I don't know too much about it. But I, too, hope it's printed as least as well as the original which was beautiful.
