BOOTY CALL, NOVEMBER'S MOST COLLECTABLE COLLECTIBLE: TEEN TITANS T-SUB WITH AQUALAD (Bandai) SRP $25
    written by Brendan McGinley
published in WIZARD #158 (Dec 2004)

We hope this sub can stay afloat in a sea of green because it's money from here on out. The Teen Titans' submarine goes up in price even faster than it goes down in depth. Speaking of pricey teens, a big reason this gadget's going for gobs of green is its companion figure, Aqualad. Teen Titans Go! Aqualad is the first (and for now, only) animated Aqualad figure. Even better, he's the only Aqualad toy with pants on. No short-shorted sprite of the sea, be he! See, previous Aqualad merch depicted Garth sporting his blue Speedos from the comics. Combine this updated design with the chances of getting another Aqualad figure and you've got a good idea why this sub/scrub set can only be netted for $40 and it's rising.

Let's not overlook the submarine itself, either. It has twin guns, room for five (guess who's not riding inside, fish-boy) and bow the kind of looks like a smiley face. It's a hot ride for a group of kids that can't legally drive. Those are important features to have on a ship when you're invading a lost continent's seaspace unannounced. But not even the sexiest vessel can compare with the aquatic jailbait who hooked our hearts. Those beady eyes, the massive hands, that mullet… Bandai, thy aquatic Adonis hast seduced us.
