Bill Rosemann's latest press release is about the Traveler's Edition of their paperback. Two of them have reprints of CROSSGEN CHRONICLES #2 and CROSSGEN CHRONICLES #3:

  • MERIDIAN TRAVELER #2: GOING TO GROUND (Traveler Edition)
  • SCION #2: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD (Traveler Edition)
  • TRY THE TRAVELERS!

Laptops, CD players, cell phones... in this age of evolving consumer products, smaller is better. Which is exactly what we were thinking when we developed the Traveler format. Measuring 8" by 5", these full-color graphic novels deliver a handy size at a nice price. In fact, Wizard magazine said, "The new CrossGen Travelers are simply amazing...they're the perfect size to stuff in a book bag or even a back pocket." And with a price of only $9.95--for 192 pages--they won't break your wallet either!

Yesterday MERIDIAN TRAVELER Vol. 2: GOING TO GROUND and MYSTIC TRAVELER Vol. 1: RITE OF PASSAGE hit the stage, while SCION TRAVELER Vol. 2: BLOOD FOR BLOOD and THE PATH TRAVELER Vol. 1: CRISIS OF FAITH will arrive on June 11th. And if your local retailer ordered the TRAVELER DISPLAY UNIT, you may also find RUSE TRAVELER Vol. 1: ENTER THE DETECTIVE and SOJOURN TRAVELER Vol. 1: FROM THE ASHES waiting for you right now!

So if you ever wanted to give a CrossGen series a try--or if you like big adventure for a small price--then try the Travelers!

Mile High Comics now has cover scans of Meridian: Going to Ground TP #2 and Mystic: Demon Queen TP #2 on their website. I'll be sure to check their site every once in a while to see if they have the other Trades, because CrossGen's website doesn't offer the trade paperback covers.

  • SIGIL TP #2
  • CrossGen's website announced that "painted cover coming soon" for MERIDIAN TP #2 and SIGIL TP #2. Since I didn't order any of these books, I'm looking for cover scans for them (so please send them if you've got them).

According to Mile High Comics, they list the MERIDIAN TP, as "MERIDIAN: GOING TO GROUND TP #2". I'll search around, but most websites and/or stores take ages for them to upload cover scans (that is if they get around to it).

Also, in the latest advertisements for their trade paperbacks, CrossGen showed a sneak peak at Joe Chiodo's cover for SIGIL TP #2 (see scan). The advertisement also listed new cover artists for the other trades:

  • SIGIL TP #2, new pained cover by Joe Chiodo
  • MERIDIAN TP #2, new painted cover by Vincenzo Cucca
  • MYSTIC TP #2, new cover art by Phil Noto
  • SCION TP #2, new cover art by Joe Jusko.

Written by Barbara Kesel, penciled by Mike Wieringo, Steve McNiven, Derec Aucoin, George Perez, inked by Rob Stull, Jordi Ensign, Tom Simmons, Derec Aucoin, Mike Perkins, colored by Paul Mounts, Morry Hollowell, Jason Lambert, Laura DePuy.

Reprinting Meridian issues #8-14 plus CrossGen Chronicles #3, this trade paperback continues the adventures of Sephie, a young adventure hero. The trade paperback adds to the story of 16-year old Sephie, who lives on a world where cities float in the sky and ships travel through the air. Her city, Meridian, is a city with an economy based on shipbuilding and made up of the finest craftsmen. She's on a journey home after surviving what should have been her death: falling from the sky, but the sigil has granted Sephie some wonderful powers and she is able to survive both the fall and the betrayal of the Minister of Akasia. Sephie is being held prisoner in the dye vats of that city, but manages to escape, facing monstrous dangers on her route back to Meridian. She narrowly avoids encountering her Uncle Ilahn, whose sigil blazes red as he destroys, while hers glows gold as she renews. When Sephie learns she can fly, a whole new range of possibilities for heroism are open to her and she rises to each occasion. Her journeys take her to the Caverns, where she meets the fiery Deren Beq, and the hidden city of Anheim, where she receives a very special gift from her mother. The story of how her mother came to leave this gift in Anheim's care, told in Chronicles #3, is included in this volume. Also included is a complete cover gallery.
