From the Shiflett Bros. personal stash, this is a one of a kind customized Incredible Hulk statue that has been turned into the character The Maestro from the Peter David and George Perez mini-masterpiece Future Imperfect. The green behemoth’s power has corrupted him a hundred years in the future, and many a hero and former ally has fallen by the Maestro’s own hand. He keeps their weapons and wardrobes as trophies and tools for his own evil pleasure. In case you haven’t picked up on it, we loved this comic and the Maestro incarnation of the Hulk. What is better than Hulk trying to smash Hulk? We also love Peter David, not only for this and so many other great Hulk stories, but for being one of the first people to ever buy a piece from us oh so many years ago at a convention.
This unique statue began life as a rare unnumbered Artist Proof of the gray version of the Incredible Hulk cold-cast porcelain statue from Bowen Designs. Jarrod and Brandon converted it into the Maestro by the brothers using epoxy putty, mohair, wire, super sculpey, metal, fabric, plastic, superglue and acrylic paints.
