    Finally... issue 4.

Took me some time to get it (or better took it some time to ship to my place), but finally I'm holding it in my hands...

Well. Unfortunately, the fourth issue (referring to the German edition only) doesn't quite live up to the preceeding issues. While the numbers 1-3 also had minor flaws, in this case it's their sheer number which increasingly gets in the way of the overall impression.

The translation by Christian Heiß is - mostly - decent again, especially Thor once again kicks butt, which is emphasized even more with the change in style when he's suddenly replaced by Thor II (Eric Masterson) on page 32. Additionally, She-Hulk (on page 37) and Hawkeye (across the entire issue) are pretty sweet, and special bonus points worth of notice are the correction (meaning-wise) of the distorting typo on page 2 of the American edsition ("I wield their powers not" instead of the intended "now"), "Giganto's horn" on page 36, Batroc's hilarious French accent and a (deliberate?) rhyme in Batroc's entrance speech.

Here are the scanned covers of the German issue 3 (variant) and issue 4 (regular), as usual courtesy of the Coverscans website.

The only official word on a variant for issue 4 so far is "There's gonna be a variant just like for the other three issues".

    From Florian Schlagbauer

    The German JLA/Rächer #4 won`t get a variant cover.

Sadly all three issues before had one, but the last one will only have the regular cover.

    From Vu

JLA/DIE RÄCHER #4 is available to certain areas in Germany. Their official release date is June 17th, but these dates are set for Newstands.

I have not heard any news regarding a variant cover for #4, which is unusual, since the first three issue all had variant covers.

Here are the first three variant covers: JLA/DIE RÄCHER #1 (Open House Variant) (Germany), JLA/DIE RÄCHER #2 (Panini Points Variant) (Germany), and JLA/DIE RÄCHER #3 (Online Variant) (Germany).
