PACESETTER #1

Hi everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that all advance order copies of PACESETTER #1 will be shipped before the end of the week, most likely Thursday, I'm getting the books bagged and boarded right now and I've already got the envelopes ready, from there just to take them to the Post Office. I had George sign them at the Mega Con, I was there all day Saturday and most of the day Sunday, a good show, very Crowded Saturday I took a few pictures when I was there, I'll send them to Vu's for site. Thanks to everyone that ordered advance copies, I really appreciate it, it really helps with the print costs.

I am now taking advance orders for issue two. I finalized what I'm offering for issue two at the Mega Con. I was hoping to make another print with art, but that just going to happen, so what I'm offering for issue two is not only will George will be autographing the book, but so will Barbara, Rick and Larry the entire creative team from Solus. With every copy ordered directly from me one dollar will be donated to the ACTOR fund, now if you want to donate more, say that you didn't want to buy more than one copy of my book any dollar over the order amount will be donated toward the ACTOR fund, so if you send a check to me for $9.00 and the order price is $6.50 for each copy, $1.00 for ordering the copy plus the $2.50 that you over paid making your contribution to the ACTOR fund $3.50. I hope to contribute at least a $1000 dollars. You'll be getting a one of a kind book and supporting a great cause, besides the advance orders really help with the shipping cost.

Real George
I drove all over the Tampa area looking for the Pérez cover edition [of CBM #86], but to no avail. So I've decided to order it directly from you. New issue is great as always. I see a theme trend (I don't know if it's because of the new editor), a lot more modern stuff. The magazine is always fun to read; I hope you don't go too far from your roots (Golden Age). Good to see a nice write-up on Randy Reynolds' great book, not just because he's a friend of mine.

I am a big fan of George Pérez, so I bought CBM #86 for his interview. When I had read that the interview was only Part 1, I assumed that issue 87 would feature the continued interview, only to discover that there wasn't any. So I'm left wondering what will happen to the rest of the interview?

I got it today! Attached is a preview of the inside front and back covers of the Perez fanzine.

I've been burning the midnight lamp on the first issue of my magazine [THE GEORGE PEREZ NEWSLETTER], it will meet the deadline I set. It'll be 52 pages, comic size, full cover front and back cover, the magazine will be awesome. I've had a lot of help on this first issue, Marcus, Brett, Andy, llke,... and so many other, thank you. Everyone who contribute will get there free issue. It's a very limited first printing and hope to go back for 2nd. First issue first printing is only 500 books, .50 for every issue sold will go to Shane Elliots charity promotion, so not only is this a fun magazine, by ordering a copy, you'll be supporting a good cause too. The first print run will be all signed by George himself, and maybe by buying an issue might spark something in you to get involved. This is a magazine by Perez fans for Perez fans. THE GEORGE PEREZ NEWSLETTER is a magazine a long the lines of the Kirby Collector. At this point it will be a magazine format, at least 48 pages, glossy cover, black and white, cover and interior at this point, with a single color logo. The format could change as it gets closer to completion. The magazine is to be published twise a year, I will be offering to all the distributors. Each issue will have three articles(need one more to complete issue one), interview(George in the first, Tom Smith in issue two), news section, editorial, theme checklist(first issue D.C. comics), fan art(need some), this is all mashed between trivia and plenty of George's excellent art. I hope to publish a magazine George will be proud of.

So far I've gotten plenty of help from some great Perez fan's but I could always use more. Any assistant a get from anybody will recieve the issue free. Big needs right now is I need one more article to complete out the first issue, the submissions are really simple (no length requirement, it can be camera ready or not), always need copies of art, trivia, ect...
