I put this issue in the Pérez checklist, but it's not really a "must have" item. Similarly like OFFICIAL TEEN TITANS INDEX #5 is not crucial to your collection, but it is worth a small mention.
FANTASTIC FOUR #500 (Director's Cut Edition) is the first time that a comic book has extra material, like the popular "Director's Cut/Special Edition" DVDs. There's 15 pages of extra material: "Deleted Scenes", sketch designs, "Outakes", Fred Hembeck's "Fantastic Five... Hundred, That Is!!", process of putting a comic book together, Stan Lee's original synopsis for FF #1, and a "Printography".
The Printography reprints all previous 499 covers of the Fantastic Four, over three pages. Obviously in order to fit all the covers the reprints of each cover is about 3 by 5 cm.

Science-fiction author (and sometime comics scribe) Andy Mangels of www.andymangels.com needs your help! Andy is assembling a comprehensive George Pérez checklist and asked the following:
Maybe you can help with this question. Recall, if you will, those Hostess ads of yore (so beautifully catalogued on www.seanbaby.com). Those days when Fruit Pies, Twinkies, and other sugary snack cakes could solve every problem in the world? George Pérez told me months ago that he drew one, with the Thing, called "Sunday Punch!" In it, The Thing fights a giant building - or is it a robot that looks like a building? I'm trying to find out in which comic(s) this appeared. Seanbaby doesn't know which issue (though he has a scan of it at his site), but says the back of the page has Mockingbird getting trounced. Help me, Cap!
The Captain responds:
Your specific question is easy enough to answer, Andy - "Sunday Punch" appeared in Marvel Team-Up #95 (Jul 80), starring Spidey and Mockingbird. But as to every comic book that ad appeared in - well, chances are it was in every Marvel published that month and maybe one or two on either side. Since even I am not masochistic enough to plow through every Marvel title of that time period, I'm throwing the question open to the Legion of Superfluous Heroes, some of whom might actually know this off the top of their pointy heads, or who file their comics chronologically. What about it, legionnaires - can we help Andy?
