Alex Ross and George Perez - "Crisis On Infinite Earths" Limited Edition Print, #184/350 (Warner Brothers, 2000). Originally sold in the Warner Brothers retail stores, this mind-boggling image, drawn from the mid-'80s reboot known as Crisis on Infinite Earths, was penciled by the legendary George Perez, and then painted by the estimable Alex Ross. A virtual "Where's Waldo?" of the DC universe, this features practically every superhero (and quite a few villains!) that engaged in the Crisis; a stunning achievement, especially when you realize that Perez and Ross have not sacrificed one ounce of clarity in the portraying literally hundreds of characters in one drawing. This extremely limited edition originally retailed for $575. The print measures 43" x 25", and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The print has been signed by both Perez and Ross in the lower right corner.

MYTHOLOGY: THE DC COMICS ART OF ALEX ROSS
(Nov 2003)
|
MYTHOLOGY: THE DC COMICS ART OF ALEX ROSS features a six-page section on Alex Ross's painting on George Pérez's CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS HC and CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS TPB, which was also printed in DC's largest poster to date: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS POSTER (1999) and CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS LITHOGRAPH (1999).
Ross said he was 15 when he read CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS and thought it was everything that excited him in comic book. He also described what a pleasure it was for him to work with George Perez on the Crisis cover, despite the fact that it took him over 30 days to completely paint it.
The two pages that I thought was really cool is a character study of the two Supermen and a one-page close-up detail of Superman [I]'s face.

Stuart Moore's article
A THOUSAND FLOWERS, part 9 - Death to the Comics Industry! mentioned Crisis and Marv Wolfman a few times.
