Subject: Crimson Plague Portfolio
Hey there.
Some time around late 2001 or early 2002 I plan to release a book collecting a series of paintings, drawings and sketches of the cast of CRIMSON PLAGUE. The profits will go to various charities, depending on where the book is sold and by whom.
Anyway, I've approached several artists about contributing a piece for the book and have thus far received positive responses. While I have not officially begun commissioning the art I have gotten either copies or originals that were
done for other people who have graciously consented to letting me use them for the Charity Book and/or a pin-up for
the regular series. So far I have sketches of DiNA: and Shannon done in animation style by Al Bigley, a beautiful
finished piece of both women by Buzz (Vampirella), and sketches of DiNA: by Georges Jeanty and Amanda Connor.
Among the artists who've given me a thumbs up, schedules permitting, are Nick Cardy, Brian Stelfreeze, Alex Ross,
Dave Stevens, the Hildebrandts, John Byrne, William Stout, Adam Hughes, Joe Jusko, Michael Turner, Joe Quesada,
Jimmy Palmiotti, Ronn Stern (who specializes in Civil War paintings, but happens to be the husband of Troi "Lady Lace"
Holder), Jeff Pittarelli (a Science Fiction/Fantasy painter), Colleen Doran, Bill Tucci and Phil Jimenez.
I'd like to get some input from the fans as to who these artists would draw (some have already been set up with specific characters, but modifications are always possible) and what other artists you'd like me to approach regarding this project.
I haven't decided on page count or format, and this is all extremely early in the game, but I thought this might keep the boards jumping a bit.
