COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE: GEORGE PEREZ PACK

The unexpurgated interview from Comic Book Marketplace...
Part 1
Part 2

(Vu: I did mention about the interviews being online in July 2003, but since not a lot of people saw this it deserved a second mention. The interview, by Bill Baker, is quite long, and is unedited.)

I heard the best Superhero song:
"Ode To A Superhero" by Al Yankovic. It's sung to "Piano Man" by Billy Joel, and it pretty much sums up the Spider-Man movie, especially the part about William Defoe looking scarier without the Goblin mask. Heheh.
As you know, according to "The Best of All Worlds: George Perez" published in
COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE #86, #89, #90 and #94, George Pérez likes to listen to "Weird" Al when he draws.
You can read part one and two the interview on Bill Baker's website, www.hypethis.com.

From COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE #88 (the later letter was written me.)
Real George
I drove all over the Tampa area looking for the Pérez cover edition [of CBM #86], but to no avail. So I've decided to order it directly from you. New issue is great as always. I see a theme trend (I don't know if it's because of the new editor), a lot more modern stuff. The magazine is always fun to read; I hope you don't go too far from your roots (Golden Age). Good to see a nice write-up on Randy Reynolds' great book, not just because he's a friend of mine.
I've also enclosed a copy of my magazine, The George Pérez Newsletter #1; #2 has been printed and should be out soon. Plenty of artwork, articles, trivia, interviews and much more. If any of your readers want to check it out they can contact me at the address below.

I am a big fan of George Pérez, so I bought CBM #86 for his interview. When I had read that the interview was only Part 1, I assumed that issue 87 would feature the continued interview, only to discover that there wasn't any. So I'm left wondering what will happen to the rest of the interview?
Thank you in advance.

[ We have had so many prior commitments for other articles that we haven't had space to run the rest of the Pérez interview yet. But we do plan to do so, so stay tuned.]

Do you think I'm too harsh on these reviews I do ? I guess I am, but these are first impressions I get when I get the latest George-related book. I've been meaning to write another more rounded review for the PEREZ ARCHIVES, but I have been lazy.
Anyroad, COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE #86 will be released to the general public tomorrow, but thanks to Marcus Mebes I have an advance copy.
This is part ONE of a four part interview with George Pérez, by interviewer Bill Baker. Part one of the interview basically just focused on the AVENGERS and the various writers that worked with George (at one point Baker had no idea who wrote after Steve Englehart left the series). The artwork used in throughout the interview were just various covers of the AVENGERS, a little disappointing.
