Just days before the opening of Superman Returns, former Superman writer Roger Stern sits at a table in the lobby of Regal Cinemas at the Pyramid Mall. The table is covered with issues of Superman that he wrote, and he is talking superheroes with passers-by. As Ithaca's link to the world's first superhero, Stern is acting as the celebrity guest at the theater's Superman Carnival, to promote the opening of Superman Returns.

"I tallied it up at the end of the year and I think it was close to 10,000 miles I traveled that year," he said.

Despite the hectic schedules, he said he enjoyed being a part of the Superman writing team and working with creators like Jerry Ordway, George Perez, Mike Carlin and Curt Swan, who is recognized as one of the definitive Superman artists.

SUPERMAN IN THE EIGHTIES (Apr 2006)
WONDER WOMAN #4 TP (Jun 2006)
Superman In The Eighties TPB, shipping April 5th, will include a reprint of Action Comics #644, according to www.dccomics.com

In reference to the "select stories" being reprinted from Action Comics #600 - considering the total page count of this trade, it's likely that a couple of the 8-pagers from AC #600 will be included, and not the 32-page Byrne/Perez story (which was recently reprinted in Wonder Woman Vol.3: Beauty And The Beasts TPB anyway).

And it looks like the planned fourth volume of reprints of George's Wonder Woman run (which would include #20-24) might arrive this summer, according to www.amazon.com
