MY LIFE WITH MORRISSEY

I think this film is awful. It's not that it is too close to home or too close to the bone, it is because I absolutely hated the main character. I suppose she was designed to be despised, but even as a fan, I could not identify at all with her.
It was definitely hard to watch, I did cringed when Jackie pretended her vibrator was Morrissey.
I think the best part of the movie was the ending (which was added in later), which I won't give away because I think it's pretty funny.
Otherwise, the film's shot and edited really well. It's interesting to note that the main characters are named after their actors and that they could not secure rights to use Morrissey or the Smiths' songs. Also, that the story was based on Jackie's obsession with Morrissey.
The DVD has a running audio commentary with Andrew Overtoom, Lynn Hobson, Ed Acosta, Alan Smart, and, er, the make-up girl, Jenny Marrero. I listen to a lot of movie commentaries, and I have to say this one is pretty entertaining. The audio is lower than the movie soundtrack, so turn down the volume if you're switching between audio tracks. Speaking of audio, the deleted scene's audio tends to drop in and out, which is kind of annoying.
What makes this DVD worth owning is the 33 minute documentary, "Real Life With Morrissey", also directed by Andrew Overtoom. It is hosted by Jay Tando. I suppose it is hard to keep of who they are interviewing, but most of these people were not credited. Most of the screen shots at the bottom are from the documentary.
